About Me
Tina
Rawson, a Swedish American with a background in Art and BA in
Education, resides in Newburyport MA where she teaches art and paints
oils. She has shown her work at juried art shows at art associations
throughout the North Shore of Boston. She lived and painted in Sweden, and has lived on both American coasts, London and Paris. Her current list of of works for sale are on Tina Rawson Art.
Tina loves to be outside and she is often inspired by the color and movement in nature. Starting a painting en plein air and finishing it in a studio is her preferred method of painting. She uses her memories to create the right feeling and mood which she hopes to convey to the viewer for their enjoyment. She finished a series of horses and is available for pet and equestrian portraits.
As a child she was greatly inspired by her mother's art, in particular her bold use of color; her grandfather's impressionist paintings; and by Sweden's natural beauty and fine design. Tina feels that this inspiration often comes through in her art, not only in choice of motif, but also the colors and textures that she employs. She is a member of öppna sinnen i Southern Sweden, and active in the VASA Order of America.
Tina Rawson was proud to be showing her art next to her mother's, Bitte Schönström Selbman, at the art show "Like Mother, Like Daughter: International Women of Art" at the Centennial Gallery June, 2018. She has had two solo shows in her home town of Newburyport, and is happy to be in many group shows at the Newburyport Art Association as well as her "home away from home" in Little Compton, RI. Follow this blog for more information on her shows.
