Bouquet on Purple

Prince was right, there is something so magical about purple. It goes with everything but especially the colors of this painting. The lush green really pops against the background, as does the pink of the astroemeria. Yellow is purple's opposite on the color wheel so of course the lily declares itself on the purple background too! Do you think that the lily is the focal point of the piece or that it is the red rose? For me, given the depth of the red and the weight that it has in the center of the piece, the rose is the focal point. I like to think of it as the hidden heart of this painting, "Bouquet on Purple" (oil, May 2020, size 14 x 11, cost $250). Thanks for checking it out!
