Next up it's my solo show at the Newburyport Arts Association! I'm thrilled! It runs 11/23 - 12/4, and this is a dream come true for me. Creative Connections: Contemporary Art by Local Artist Tina Rawson Opens at The Newburyport Art Association Hills Gallery on November 23

Family-friendly Exhibit Celebrates Joy, Friendship, and Heritage in a Post-Pandemic Era

(Newburyport, MA) The art of Tina Rawson, an acclaimed Newburyport artist with a studio in Amesbury, will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at the Hills Gallery entitled Creative Connections: Contemporary Art. An art reception will be held from 5 – 7 pm at 65 Water Street, Newburyport, MA, with the artist on site. The art show is a tribute to the place and people that Rawson loves. It will run until December 4, 2022.

Rawson's creative synapses have been actively firing and flexing these past two years, and this show takes up where "Constellation of Friends," an astrological painting series, left off. Creative Connections: Contemporary Art by Tina Rawson connects the dots between heritage, heart, eye, and interests. Gifted with creative DNA by her artist and actor parents, this show expresses Rawson's unique experience, which is ultimately the larger human experience of love and life as seen through the eye of a contemporary female artist. Connections with friends, mythology, children, landscapes, and memories, combined with celestial questions of the bigger picture, led her to create these colorful joyful paintings.

Having trained her hand to replicate the natural beauty around us in the past years, the beauty in her friends, and the connections that she has made in the Newburyport area, she honors that in the show with landscapes, portraits, and multimedia pieces. The "Constellation of Friends" paintings, her new series "To Be" (contemporary en-plein air paintings), and tarot card art will be on display. Made with acrylic paints, gold leaf, resin, spray paint, carved markings and more, these paintings show the bright colors Rawson gleans, where others may not, and the hope she has despite challenging times.

Rawson paints dynamic acrylic, oil, and watercolor pieces inspired by colorful flowers, beaches, travel, powerful women, and memories of happy times and friends. Her studio is located at 14 Cedar Street, Amesbury, third floor. During the peak of Covid, Rawson found great solace in painting in nature. She also mines memories of people she loves resulting in charming pieces such as The Big Leap and Kajsa at Christorp, a loving homage to her daughter and her Swedish-American heritage.

Tina Rawson is a professionally trained artist, a member of the Newburyport Art Association, and a North Shore Atelier participant. Recently she funneled extra time at home during the pandemic into breaking out her brushes, painting, and training with Amira Rahim of the Better Than Art School (BTAS). She has been featured in Clover & Bee's inaugural issue, many group art shows in MA, a solo show at the Wenham Museum, and the Art Queens online exhibit Inner Power

Tina Rawson Art and Start 2 Art provide beautiful colorful art that evokes your imagination, and an array of classes to bring the joy of creativity into other’s lives.
