My First Mural

The big thing now are murals, it's crazy how much people love them. They're big, bold and all over businesses. Basically in a nutshell they can sum up what the business it all about. Any guesses yet on what kind of business this is for?...
Work in progress of a beautiful mural

I will tell you, I was very excited to get tapped for a mural at Golden Hour Counseling at 5 Market Square in Amesbury, MA. The owner, Ariel, loved my proposal of two atmospheric photographs by Mark Pizza Art. She chose the golden green one which was my favorite too! She's a really special person and I'm so glad that we connected because she's so positive and made my first mural seem like the perfect fit.

I made the trip to Maine to see Mark and thanked Mark for letting me use his inspirational photos. The two I showed the client were both gorgeous, see below.

Ariel picked the field with the house, and I'm so glad. The light is ethereal and the glow is unreal. But I will be painting the mural without the houses, and adding wildflowers. So far I've picked the image, sketched, painted it using the base colors which I picked up at Sherwin Williams and now I'm going to source the spray paints.

The base colors are painted onto a canvas here, and I'll mess around with my spray paints on it before attempting the wall. This was a good idea because it turned out that I liked a more watery mix to my paints in places rather than the full on look of a painted wall, and I was able to incorporate that into my mural using a spray bottle full of water. Stay tuned for more on the mural as it progresses! Thank you.
